All the latest from Springfield Camera Club - Lincoln Steampunk Festival
As promised, more on the club’s visit to Lincoln for the August Bank Holiday. And what a great time we had! The festival runs from Friday to the Monday and is packed with things that would have your camera melting with over use.
A taxi took us into town to pick up our pre-paid event wrist bands. These are not essential, there is plenty to see and do without going to the wristband only things, but
they give access to the castle grounds where so much takes place.

Steampunk is all about fun. Everybody is nice to everybody and the events on the ridiculous side. There is the Splendid Teapot Racing event, the Parasol Duelling, Wacky Races and many other things to visit and photograph. Those dressed for the festival came in a huge variety of costumes with the general theme of Victoriana - and even the Queen herself was there!

The weather was very unkind on Sunday and rained enthusiastically all day. But it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits. Many of the ladies had parasols, of course, most of the men wore hats (or masks) and the day was still full of things to do and see.

For us, it was a photographic extravaganza with so much to capture, we booked again for 2019. Do join us, you won’t regret it.
