All the latest from Springfield Camera Club - The Ernie Rogerson Trophy

Basically, a good time was had by all! The Ernie Rogerson Trophy has been around for many, many years and if memory serves, it was originally for slide images! Way back in

the dark ages.

The trophy is specifically for landscape images (because Ernie was a landscape guy) and has seen some amazing winners - images, not people! There were 39 images for our long suffering judge to comment on and a huge variety of subjects from a miniature landscape in the form of mushrooms, to long, long distance mountain ranges.

In the end, Tony took the trophy with one of his stunning images from his travels to East Java, of the Bromo, Demeru and Batok Volcanoes. Taking the second spot with a lovely calm image of a sunrise behind trees was Veronica.

Third was our very own Tony again, with another mesmerising mountain image.

Judge Phil Ricketts awarded 6 tens and awarded Highly Commended to the other three, congratulations to Kathryn for two of them and Tony for his third image. The rest of us need to get out more!

The evening was well attended and thanks to all those that continue to help clear the room, it’s much appreciated.

PS our normal tea arrangements are back next week so no cakes!
